Unless you’re running an older version of Office on your Windows 10 machine, or it’s installed by another third party program then this issue will become more common as people phase out Windows 7 for Windows 10.ĮCW should include REQUIRED OCX files in their installs and then register them, why they don’t is beyond me. MSCOMCTL.OCX was replaced in 10, which is why it’s no longer created by default - but eCW didn’t re-point to the new OCX file nor have they included the old MSCOMCTL.OCX in their installation package. Lots of OCX files were created back in the old NT days, they’re rarely updated (look at the dates on them, most were “created” 20 years before Windows 10 was even created). The Kernel hasn’t been changed at all, just minor tweaks between NT and 10. Not going to get in to an argument, but moving OCX files is valid and recommended by Microsoft themselves ( )… They ever say you can distribute the file, then register it in Windows 10 without any issues.
